Virtual Tour and Cooking Demonstration From Julia Child's Home
Spend your Saturday channeling your inner Julia Child ’34 while touring her old summer home, La Pitchoune, in the South of France and cooking along with other Smithies. Makenna Held ’07, owner and Courageous Cooking School founder, will give us a tour of the beautiful property, then share a deconstructed (no recipe) ‘cook-along’ of a roasted grapefruit and fennel salad in the peg-board kitchen. Come savor a bit of history and learn about Makenna’s unique approach to recipe-free cooking. Easy-to-access ingredients will be shared in advance with all registered participants.

Ingredients:
1 Grapefruit
2 heads of Fennel with some pretty fronds
Olive Oil
Red Wine Vinegar or Lemon or other Acid
Your Spice Cabinet
1 Avocado (optional)

Equipment:
One roasting tray
A knife
A bowl for serving and putting it together
