SCMA Conversations: African Art
A series of conversations in which a curator and experts discuss artwork from the collection.

Dr. Christa Clarke and Kymberly Newberry discuss the recent installation of African art at SCMA. Moderated by Danielle Carrabino, Curator of Sculpture and Painting with the participation of Mosa-Naleli Molapo ’22, get an inside view into the thinking behind this display and how it all came together. There will be a Q&A at the end with all of the panelists.

Kymberly Newberry, Ph.D. is a student in the W.E.B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies, UMass Amherst.

Mosa-Naleli Molapo ’22, is the Kennedy Research Fellow at Smith College Museum of Art, Art History and African Studies major and Museums Concentrator

Danielle Carrabino, Ph.D., is Curator of Painting and Sculpture, SCMA
